Cool Show..... Learned what road humor was on the way there compliments of a crazy old Hippie......Thought I was gonna get run over by a semi. Great opener Good first set. Michael Ray was a little behind during CTB. Trey would look over at him and point to his ear like he was saying "Listen to the progression!" Tim Green brought the house down with his sax. That guy RIPS. Funky Bitch was off the charts with the sax solo. Second set opener sequence rocked pretty hard from what I remember. Either during Mist or Heavy Things a pigeon flew a few circles over the crowd on the floor and eventually landed on Trey's amp. The band couldn't figure out what it was for a little bit because the crowd was cheering for the bird. Trey was perplexed but figured it out. Then we got a jammed out BOAF. Cool moment. Good DWD. Meatstick was corny and Rocky Top was not what we expected. Kind of thought we were going to get a Fire on the Bayou all funked out with horns or an amazing grace jam. All in all this show stood out as a great time.

Set one of this show is mostly a novelty set. Sweet Virginia is a pretty cool and out of left field debut to kick off a show. The horns are a very cool and unique show. The highlights to my ear are Cars, Trucks, And Buses and Mozambique which as a very creole touch to it, perfect for the area and venue. For the most part it's a pretty average first set though, nothing groundbreaking.

Set two kicks of with Twist that slips into a kind of floating dreamscape, before Trey charges it into the finish line to a fine conclusion. The Piper is absolutely top shelf and likely deserves more credit. It is your typical slow build Piper but with a very heavy touch courtesy of Trey and Fish, it is a version any fan of the song needs to hear. Mountains in the Mist & Heavy Things work as a soft core to the set which works pretty well. DWD stretching to the typical type one Trey shredding but with a slight hint at what was to come at Big Cypress.

Meatstick > Rocky Top encore is a good one two punch as an encore.

Overall a fairly solid show. Not stepping outside of any conventional bounds but none the less the guys did their thing well.

Dirt: The intro with the whistling and vocals…off. They sound – ahem – wasted. Michael Ray was in the house, so...

Bouncing Around the Room: Standard.

Cars Trucks Buses, Funky Bitch, Mozambique, Cavern: Tim Green guest spot is awesome. Michael Ray is ok, light years better than 9.9.00.

First set summary: Nothing here for me to revisit. Guest spots went on too long. Nothing to revisit.

SET 2: Twist: This version is just straight up rock and roll, Trey leading the charge the whole way. No him sitting in the back, mini keyboard, and loops. No sir. This Trey is aggressive and goes for the throat. He lights the world on fire with the end shred on this one. Must hear version! The fact that this is not in jamcharts is laughable and criminal. >

Piper: Another Trey led rock fest. In your face and aggressive, but short.

Mountains in the Mist: For those in attendance, I imagine this breather was needed as the previous 25 minutes were hard core.

Heavy Things: Brutal placement. That’ll leave a mark. Not only that but this one is slow and listless. Call to the Post teases after Heavy Things is over.

Birds of a Feather: Call to the Post tease at 4:02. This jam starts of very quiet. Trey and Mike playing off one another nicely. 7:35 Trey lays back and Page takes the lead while Trey creates a loop. Trey seems tentative here and there. Uncertain where to go and what to do. Around 9:30 is where everyone picks up the pace and collectively shreds through the ending. This is a decent jam.

Meat: Horrible placement.

Down with Disease: This is one of the shreddiest versions you will ever hear. Trey is a rock God here. Do yourself a favor and check this one out, it will blister your behind.

Sweet Virginia made its Phish debut at this show. The last four songs of the first set featured Michael Ray on trumpet and Tim Green on saxophone. Call to the Post was teased before and during Birds. Trey teased Meatstick at the end of Rocky Top.

Second set summary: Really up and down. Shows like this is where you wish they would have a setlist written down and stick to it. Twist, Piper and DWD all smoke. Birds is decent. If you are looking for Type II jamming, just keep on moving, nothing to see here – please disperse. If you want shreddy jams, then you will find some gems in here. For me, this show is below average. I would rate it a 3.2 out of 5.
